Monday Feb 26, 2018
On this Third Sunday in Lent, Jesus stirs up the crowd by predicting that the temple, if torn down, would be rebuilt in only three days. Preposterous! Listen in as the Bubbas evaluate this and other fantastical claims in the scripture texts for the day. Special music guest is singer/songwriter Mary Gauthier, offering Mercy, Now.

The First Sunday in Lent is here -- a bit earlier than some of us may have expected! Maybe that's the way the movement of God always happens? Anyhow, here's some discussion of Jesus' journey into the wilderness and what that means for us as we prepare to follow him. Special musical guests include the original cast of Jesus Christ Superstar, with the character of Judas Iscariot offering a bit of his own personal Lenten thought process in the song, Heaven on Their Minds. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

Though not quite transfigured, the Bubbas are here to do their best in talking through the texts for the final Sunday in Epiphany, Transfiguration Sunday. As is the case with Elijah and Elisha, God has a unique way to let the boys who came up the mountain with Jesus know that it's about time to "ease on down the road" and keep walking toward Jerusalem and the wider work of God in the world. Special musical guests are Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, performing -- you guessed it -- Ease on Down the Road!

Recorded and edited over the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday, this session for the Third Sunday after the Epiphany appropriately asks, "What is demanded when one is following a call?" Commentary is the responsibility of Two Bubbas and a Bible, while the special guest musicians are for the birds -- I mean, they ARE The Byrds. We go out with Turn, Turn, Turn (For Every Season There is a Time) with music by Pete Seeger and words by Qoheleth.
